Samyang’s AF 75mm F1.8 Full Frame Telephoto Lens for Sony E-mount offers a fast maximum aperture in a compact design. This lens marks Samyang’s fifth compact lens and its ninth autofocus lens specifically formulated for Sony mirrorless cameras. Weighing just 8.1 ounces and measuring only 2.7 inches in length, it is currently the lightest and smallest autofocus full-frame portrait-length lens on the market.

The significant reduction in weight and size of the 75mm lens pairs effectively with its sophisticated optical construction to deliver excellent performance and versatility. It incorporates five special elements—three Extra Low Dispersion and two High Refractive Index elements—along with Ultra Multi-Coating. Together, these features produce incredible sharpness, reduce chromatic aberration, and enhance contrast and color fidelity. Additionally, you can enjoy its portability and performance on Sony E-mount APS-C sensor models, where it performs as a short telephoto lens with a focal length equivalent to 112.5mm.

Thanks to its 75mm focal length and F1.8 aperture, this lens provides precise selective focus control that isolates subjects from the background while still incorporating enough background to help tell a story. The lens also creates beautiful bokeh at all apertures, with natural, circular, out-of-focus highlights, thanks to specifically designed optics and a 9-blade rounded iris. Moreover, the lens features a new Stepping Motor (STM) design, delivering faster, quieter, and more accurate focusing for both stills and video applications.

One notable new feature is the addition of a Custom Switch. This Custom Switch allows the focusing ring to function either as a manual focus control (Mode 1) or as an aperture control (Mode 2). Samyang is also developing additional custom switch functions that can be added via firmware updates. Users can fine-tune focusing parameters and update firmware for the AF 75mm F1.8 and other Samyang Sony E-mount lenses via the accessory Samyang Lens Station model SYIOLS-E.

Finally, each Samyang AF 75mm F1.8 Full Frame Lens for Sony E comes equipped with a reversible lens hood, lens caps, and a custom-fitted case.
