The Sony BRC-H800 delivers broadcast-quality Full HD video with smooth, quiet PTZ control for professional production environments. Its large 1.0-type Exmor R CMOS sensor captures detailed 60p footage with excellent low-light performance, making it suitable for studios, newsrooms, auditoriums, houses of worship, classrooms, courtrooms, sports venues, and corporate AV installations. The compact robotic design allows installation in difficult or discreet locations while supporting efficient multi-camera operation controlled by a single operator.

Broadcast-Quality Imaging

The large back-illuminated 1.0-type Exmor R CMOS sensor produces detailed Full HD 60p images with low noise and accurate color reproduction. It also creates attractive shallow depth-of-field effects for cinematic visuals. The camera supports both Full HD 60p recording for fast-moving subjects and 24p mode for film-style production.

The integrated Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens provides a 12x optical zoom range for wide shots and close-ups. Sony Clear Image Zoom extends the range to 24x in HD without visible loss of detail. Tele Convert Mode doubles the zoom to 48x while maintaining Full HD 1920 × 1080 resolution.

The camera continues to deliver clear, low-noise color video in lighting levels as low as 1.7 lux, making it well suited for theaters, live halls, and other dimly lit venues.

Smooth PTZ Performance and Flexible Control

The BRC-H800 delivers accurate pan, tilt, and zoom movement with smooth, fast, and near-silent operation. Slow-speed zoom and precision pan/tilt modes help create stable and professional camera movements. PTZ Trace Memory records camera movement sequences for repeatable shots, while PTZ Motion Sync blends pan, tilt, and zoom movements into seamless transitions. The camera stores up to 100 preset PTZ positions for instant recall.

Operators can control the camera using the supplied IR remote commander or the optional RM-IP500 Remote Control Unit, which supports multiple cameras. In studio environments, the camera also works with Sony RCP-1500, RCP-1501, RCP-1530, MSU-1000, and MSU-1500 control systems over IP networks.

Professional Integration

The camera supports flexible installation with tabletop, tripod, or ceiling mounting options. PoE+ reduces cable requirements by delivering power through Ethernet, while VISCA over IP enables convenient remote control. Dual 3G-SDI outputs and HDMI provide compatibility with professional broadcast and AV workflows. Genlock simplifies synchronization in multi-camera productions.

Front and rear tally lamps support live broadcast operation, with adjustable front tally brightness. Firmware updates over IP add new features and improve performance. The camera can also output real-time pan, tilt, zoom, focus, and iris tracking data using the free-d protocol, allowing cost-effective integration into VR and AR production systems without additional tracking hardware.

Built for Professional Productions

The Sony BRC-H800 is available in black as the BRC-H800 and in white as the BRC-H800/W, depending on regional availability. The BRC-H800/1 and BRC-H800/WPW models for the US and Canada include the AC-UES1230MT AC power supply and cord, while other regions require the power supply to be purchased separately.
