The Lindsey Optics 4 x 5.65″ Diopter 50% Rota-Split Close-Up Lens helps cinematographers create striking near and far focus effects within a single shot. A Brilliant 138mm close-up lens is cut in half and mounted inside a geared rotating tray, allowing fast and accurate positioning of the split line. The lens is available in +1/4, +1/2, +1, +2, and +3 diopter strengths to suit different creative and production needs.

Create Seamless Split Focus Effects

The 50% split field design lets the foreground subject appear through the close-up lens while distant subjects remain visible through the clear section of the filter. For a natural transition, align the split edge with scene elements such as a table edge, door frame, building edge, or tree trunk. This technique conceals the transition line and produces a smooth near/far focus effect.

The geared Rota-Split rotating tray makes alignment quick and precise on set. A Broadband Multi-Layer Anti-Reflection Coating (MC Coating) minimizes reflections, reduces flare, and helps prevent ghost images for cleaner cinematic results.
