STORM 80c

The Aputure STORM 80c is an 80W full-color compact point source LED light and the first fixture in the STORM family to feature the new BLAIR-CG LED chipset. With seven channels — Blue, Lime, Amber, Indigo, Red, Cyan, and Green — it delivers the greatest range and highest color accuracy ever produced in an LED. Whether you work on high-end film productions or small-crew video shoots, the STORM 80c gives you professional-grade color performance in a compact and portable form.

BLAIR-CG: Colors Never Before Seen on an LED

The BLAIR-CG chipset reaches 90% or more of the Rec.2020 color space, achieving saturated colors that were previously unobtainable on LED fixtures — including accurate yellow. The calibrated Indigo diode enhances fluorescing materials, so white light better matches natural daylight and tungsten sources. Color accuracy scores include CRI 97+, TLCI 98+, SSI [P3200] 88, SSI [D5600] 84, TM-30 Rf 96, and TM-30 Rg 103. Furthermore, the light delivers 19,850 lux at 1m at 5600K using the included 35° Hyper Reflector.

Wide CCT Range and Full Color Control

The STORM 80c covers a CCT range of 1,800K to 20,000K — the widest range available in a light this compact and portable. It also offers 100% +/- Green control across the full ASC MITC range of adjustment. In addition, xy coordinate mode gives you even greater precision when dialing in specific color points. As a result, you have full flexibility over white point and color matching on any set.

Advanced Dimming and Flicker-Free Output

The STORM 80c features stepless 0.1%–100% dimming with no flicker and no color shift at any brightness level. Its minimum output reaches less than 19.8 lux at 1m at 5600K, making it usable even in the most light-sensitive situations. Four dimming curves — Linear, Exponential, Logarithmic, and S-shaped — give you further control over how the light ramps up or down during shooting.

Compact Design and Versatile Rigging

Without the yoke, the STORM 80c measures just 6″ x 4″ x 4″ and weighs just 1kg. The removable yoke offers 360° rotation of the lamp head and features four 3/8-16″ threaded sockets for versatile rigging with standard grip mounts. An optional handheld bracket with V-mount battery plate and D-Tap cable is also available for run-and-gun use.

Mini ProLock Locking Bowens Mount

The STORM 80c features a Mini ProLock Locking Bowens Mount for secure and optically aligned modifier attachment. Aputure offers dedicated Mini ProLock modifiers as well as an adapter for full-size Bowens mount accessories. The design reduces the need for rotational adjustments, so you can achieve a secure and aligned lock quickly and easily.

Flexible Power Options

The STORM 80c accepts AC power, V-mount batteries via the optional STORM 80c Handheld Bracket with D-Tap cable, and USB-C power through its 100W USB-C port. This makes it easy to power from inexpensive and lightweight power banks for untethered location shooting.

IP65 Weather Protection

The STORM 80c carries a full IP65 dust and weather resistant rating across the entire lamp head. Sealed connectors and components allow it to be used outdoors in the rain without any impact to performance or reliability.

Professional Control and Built-In Effects

Control options include Sidus Link and Sidus Link Pro App, LumenRadio CRMX, and 16-bit DMX512 in and out via a DMX 2-Way Splitter Adapter. The fixture runs on the new OSII operating system for a faster and more intuitive user experience. It also ships with 74 DMX control profiles, 4 fan modes, 10 savable presets, and 15 built-in light effects including Lightning II, Candle, Cop Car II, Fireworks, Fire II, TV II, and more.

The STORM 80c is also available as a complete 3-Light Kit.
