The Sony SEL70300G FE 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G OSS Zoom Lens delivers a versatile 70mm to 300mm focal range with high resolution across the entire zoom range. As the first full-frame 70-300mm E-mount zoom, it handles portraits, scenery, sports, nature, and detailed close-ups in one lens. Its 0.9-meter minimum focus distance and 0.31x maximum magnification also provide telephoto macro capability.

Versatile 70-300mm Range

The 70-300mm range gives you a flexible medium to super-telephoto perspective. On APS-C cameras, the telephoto end provides a 450mm equivalent focal length for serious super-telephoto photography. This makes the lens suitable for portraits, scenery, sports, nature, and many other subjects.

High-Resolution Optical Design

Four aspherical elements and two ED glass elements help suppress optical aberrations. Sony’s Nano AR Coating further supports clear, high-resolution images from corner to corner. The optical design also contributes to the smooth background bokeh associated with G Lens performance.

Close-Up Telephoto Capability

The 0.9-meter minimum focus distance lets you move closer to your subject and capture fine details. With a maximum magnification of 0.31x, the lens combines medium to super-telephoto zoom performance with telephoto macro capability.

Fast and Precise Autofocus

An advanced linear actuator supports fast and precise autofocus across a wide range of subjects and shooting situations. Focus operation stays smooth and quiet, making the lens useful for both still photography and movies.

Stabilized and Weather Resistant

Built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps reduce camera shake during handheld shooting. The stabilization works across all focal lengths and helps produce crisp, clear images, including in low-light conditions. The sealed design also provides dust and moisture resistance for greater reliability in challenging environments. Absolute protection from dust and moisture is not guaranteed.

The lens also provides practical on-lens controls. A focus-mode switch allows quick selection between manual and autofocus. A focus-hold button can maintain the focus point during continuous AF, while the focus-range limiter switch lets you preset a focusing distance range to maximize autofocus speed.
