One Super ED element and three ED glass elements suppress chromatic aberration, while an optimized lens coating minimizes flare and ghosting for improved contrast and clarity. The large F1.8 aperture, 11-blade circular diaphragm, and carefully controlled spherical aberration create smooth, natural G Lens bokeh with excellent subject separation.

Fast Autofocus and Professional Control

Two XD (Extreme Dynamic) Linear Motors deliver fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus with reliable subject tracking. The dedicated focus control algorithm minimizes delay and vibration for smooth focusing, even when tracking moving subjects. An aperture ring provides direct exposure adjustment, while the Click ON/OFF switch enables tactile clicks for photography or silent aperture changes for video.
