The Sony FE 35mm F1.8 is a compact and lightweight full-frame prime lens that delivers outstanding image quality even at its maximum F1.8 aperture. Weighing only 280g and measuring 65.6mm x 73mm, it offers a versatile focal length for everything from tabletop photography to outdoor shooting. Its fast F1.8 design also makes it a practical choice for both photography and moviemaking.

The lens balances well with APS-C cameras and provides an equivalent focal length of 52.5mm, making it well suited to portraits and snapshots. An aspherical element helps suppress optical aberrations and maintains high resolution from the centre of the image to the corners. A 9-blade circular aperture contributes to smooth, natural-looking bokeh when a softer background is desired.

Fast AF and Close-Up Performance

The wide F1.8 aperture creates a narrow depth of field where precise focus matters. The linear-motor AF drive system provides fast, quiet, and precise autofocus for stills and movies. Its smooth response also supports delicate continuous focus control during movie shooting.

With a minimum focus distance of 0.22m and a maximum magnification of 0.24x, the lens can move in close for detailed images while remaining useful for general photography and moviemaking. Precise Control and Reliable Operation

The customisable focus hold button provides convenient focus hold control and can also be assigned to other functions through the camera body menu. Functions such as displaying grid lines for composition and adjusting white balance can be assigned to support efficient shooting.

A focus mode switch allows instant switching between autofocus and manual focus when a subject or situation requires fine manual focus adjustment. Linear Response MF gives the focus ring a direct and linear response to manual control. Focus ring rotation translates directly into a corresponding change in focus, providing an immediate and precise feel.

The dust- and moisture-resistant design provides the reliability needed for outdoor use in challenging conditions.
