The Sony FE 50-150mm F2 GM Lens delivers a new level of telephoto zoom versatility. Its F2 maximum aperture combines with telephoto compression to create deep, expressive bokeh for portraits and other creative images. The wide aperture also supports indoor event shooting. An internal zoom design, agile handling, and a weight of 1340 g without the tripod base make this lens practical for handheld use.

Prime-Like Resolution and Smooth Bokeh

Two precision XA elements and a carefully designed optical system deliver resolution that approaches high-quality prime lenses across the image area, including at F2. Two Super ED and three ED glass elements reduce longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberration for sharp images with minimal color bleeding. Nano AR Coating II helps reduce flare and ghosting when strong light sources appear in the frame.

The 11-blade circular aperture produces smooth, creamy bokeh. Two precision XA elements help suppress onion-ring bokeh. Telephoto compression and shallow depth of field help subjects stand out with a distinctive visual expression.

Agile Handling and Close-Up Detail

Four XD linear motors drive the focus group for fast, accurate, and quiet auto focus. The lens can track subjects while zooming and keeps pace with the 120 fps maximum burst speed of the α9 III. This performance helps professionals capture fast-moving moments reliably.

The aperture ring includes click ON/OFF and lock switches. Three assignable focus hold buttons and a DMF switch provide flexible control. The lens offers clearance for the camera grip, accepts standard 95mm filters, and includes a tripod foot with 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch screw holes.
