The Lindsey Optics Brilliant² Rota-Pol Circular Polarizer 6.6″x6.6″ / 161mm is a circular polarizer designed to fit 6.6×6.6” cine matte boxes, allowing for simple and effective rotation of the included 161mm Round Brilliant-Pol Circular Polarizer. This polarizer features a broadband multi-layer anti-reflection coating and delivers 38% transmission, resulting in a 1.5-stop light loss. Furthermore, the large 6.25″ clear aperture proves especially useful with wide-angle or large zoom lenses. It stands out as more effective than other rotapola filters, which generally use 6″ diameter polarizers with 5.8-inch clear apertures.

In addition, the included 161mm Circular Polarizer is mounted in a geared rotating filter tray that fits into 6.6×6.6″ matte boxes. Rotation of the polarizer is achieved by spinning one of the two geared thumb wheels by hand or by using a motor mounted on either of the two 20 threads in the handle. The thumb wheel gears are engraved with letters A through H, and each full rotation of the gear results in a 90-degree rotation of the polarizer.

Moreover, the Brilliant² Rota-Pol incorporates superior mechanical design, with an all-aluminum main gear supporting the 161mm Brilliant-Pol Circular Polarizer. Internal Delrin™ rollers ensure smooth, no-slip rotation. The main gear is driven by aluminum thumb wheels, equipped with standard 0.8 pitch gear teeth, making it compatible with motorized wireless remote systems.
