Blimp Windshield

The RØDE Blimp is a complete windshield and shock mounting system designed for RØDE shotgun microphones and compatible third-party shotgun microphones up to 325mm in length. It combines advanced wind protection with effective shock isolation to help capture clean, professional audio in outdoor and location recording environments.

Superior Shock Isolation

The Blimp features the Rycote Lyre suspension system, which effectively isolates the microphone from handling noise and unwanted vibrations. Inside the ergonomic handle, a heavy-duty Mogami cable connects through a junction box to a flexible thin cable inside the Blimp, helping minimize vibration transfer to the microphone.

Lightweight and Comfortable Design

The ultra-lightweight construction and ergonomic handle provide comfortable operation during extended recording sessions while maintaining excellent microphone stability.

Compatible with Standard Boompoles

The Blimp mounts directly to any standard boompole using the integrated 3/8-inch thread attachment. An optional Universal Blimp Mount is available for users who want to remove the handle when using the Blimp primarily on a boompole.

Complete Recording Kit

The package includes the Dead Wombat windshield for enhanced wind protection, a caring brush for maintenance, and a tail/patch cable, giving you a complete solution for professional outdoor audio recording.
