50mm T1.5 Cine Lens

The Samyang SYDSX50 50mm T1.5 VDSLR MK2 Cine Lens for Canon RF combines a compact matte black design with professional cine features. It offers full-frame coverage, a fast T1.5 aperture, smooth focus control, precise T-stop calibration, and a rounded nine-blade aperture for smooth circular bokeh. The lens also features a weather-sealed mount and works with Samyang VDSLR Cine lenses for color rendition and gear placement.

Professional Cine Control

The lens uses T-stop calibration for accurate exposure control and provides a silky smooth, long focus throw for precise focusing. Its de-clicked aperture allows smooth and silent adjustments. Focus and aperture scales appear on both sides, allowing operators to work from either side of the camera. The wider focusing gear also provides a more comfortable grip during manual focus pulling.

Matched Cine Design

Samyang designed the VDSLR MK2 series with uniform 0.8MOD focus and aperture gearing. This standard gearing, combined with consistent gear placement across the MK2 and VDSLR series, supports fast lens changes when using follow focus systems. Tight color matching also makes the VDSLR MK2 lenses fully compatible with Samyang VDSLR Cine lenses in terms of color rendition and gear placement.

Optical Performance

The optical design uses High Refractive Index, Extra Low Dispersion, Aspherical, and Hybrid Aspherical elements to reduce aberrations and produce clear, vibrant images. Full-frame coverage and the fast T1.5 aperture support the capabilities of modern DSLR, mirrorless, and cine camera systems, as well as drones.

Compact MK2 Construction

The lens features a new compact and sleek design with a matte black finish. Its rounded nine-blade aperture creates smoother circular bokeh. Enhanced markings place the focal length where it remains visible from the sides of the lens. The non-rotating front design makes it easier to use filters, polarizer, and hoods.

The Canon RF mount features weather sealing to help protect the vulnerable gap between the lens and camera mount. The VDSLR MK2 series is also available in Canon EF, Sony E, and Micro Four Thirds mounts. This model comes with a two-year warranty.
