Audio Distribution Amplifier

The Sonifex RB-DA6G is a high-performance 1U rack-mount 6-way stereo distribution amplifier built for splitting a single audio source into multiple outputs. It is designed for broadcast centres, studios, and professional audio environments where reliable and flexible signal distribution is essential.

Flexible Distribution Modes

The RB-DA6G features one stereo input and six stereo outputs for standard 6-way stereo distribution. It can also be configured to distribute a single mono input to twelve outputs, giving you twice the number of feeds when needed. Switching between modes is done via a recessed front-panel switch, designed to prevent unintended switching during use. As a result, you can adapt the unit to your specific distribution needs quickly and safely.

Individual Output Gain Control

Each of the twelve outputs has its own individually adjustable gain control ranging from -8dB to +18dB. This makes it easy to normalise both consumer and professional signals, delivering outputs at -15dBu and 0dBu respectively. Furthermore, each output is individually buffered, so a short circuit on one output does not affect any of the others, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted signal distribution across all feeds.

Balanced XLR Connectivity

All inputs and outputs use XLR-3 connectors that are electronically balanced and can also be wired unbalanced for added flexibility. This makes the RB-DA6G compatible with a wide range of professional and consumer audio equipment in any broadcast or studio environment.

Typical Applications

The RB-DA6G is ideal for distributing line level signals to multiple reporters in a broadcast centre, distributing the main programme output from a mixer to other studios, and creating multiple feeds of a recorded signal at different output levels.
