The Sony ILCE-9M2 Alpha 9 II Full-Frame Camera Body combines high-speed performance, reliable operation and professional workflow features. Its 24.2MP 35mm full-frame stacked CMOS sensor with integral memory provides fast readout and high sensitivity, while the BIONZ X image-processing engine supports natural tonal gradations and stable AWB during continuous shooting.

Stacked Sensor and Processing

The 24.2MP back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor with integral memory delivers next-generation readout speed and sensitivity up to ISO 204800 extended. The BIONZ X image-processing engine supports natural tonal gradations and stable AWB, helping maintain consistent image quality during continuous shooting.

Blackout-Free High-Speed Shooting

The electronic shutter enables blackout-free continuous shooting while the high-speed sensor helps reduce EVF display lag. The Quad-VGA OLED Tru-Finder offers approximately 3.68 million dots and a 120fps refresh rate to minimize display blurring of moving subjects. ZEISS T* Coating reduces reflections, while the outer lens uses a dirt-repelling fluorine coating for improved usability on location.

AF and AE calculations operate up to 60 times per second with virtually uninterrupted operation while composing and releasing the shutter. The electronic shutter reaches 1/32000 sec. and its high curtain speed helps suppress rolling shutter effects when capturing fast-moving subjects. Silent electronic shooting also avoids mechanical mirror and shutter noise.

4D FOCUS and Real-Time Tracking

The 4D FOCUS system combines accurate subject detection, rapid autofocus and continuous tracking. Its 693 focal-plane phase-detection AF points cover approximately 93% of the image area and track unpredictable subject movement, including during shutter release.

Real-time Tracking processes color, pattern, brightness and distance information in parallel at high speed. AI also detects human and animal faces and eyes continuously. Real-time Eye AF allows left or right eye preference and works with Real-time Tracking for moving subjects.

stabilization and 4K Recording

The body-integrated 5-axis optical image stabilization system compensates for camera shake during handheld shooting. It provides performance equivalent to a 5.5-step faster shutter speed and supports still and movie shooting at longer focal lengths, close-ups and at night. Real-time stabilization effects can be monitored through live view.

The camera records 4K movies with full-pixel readout without pixel binning. It condenses approximately 2.4 times the data required for 4K, equivalent to 6K, for detailed QFHD 3840 x 2160 output. XAVC-S recording supports bit rates up to 100 Mbps.

Dual UHS-II Media Slots

Both SD card slots support UHS-II and UHS-II for fast, high-volume data writing. You can record simultaneously or use relay recording, separate RAW and JPEG data, separate stills and movies, or copy data between cards. A slide-lock structure helps prevent accidental opening of the memory card cover.
