BRC-X1000 4K PTZ Camera

The SONY BRC-X1000 delivers broadcast-quality 4K video with smooth, quiet PTZ performance for professional productions. Its compact robotic design allows easy installation in locations that are difficult to access while maintaining exceptional image quality. The camera suits broadcast studios, newsrooms, auditoriums, houses of worship, courtrooms, sports venues, remote studios, and corporate AV environments. It also supports efficient multi-camera productions where one operator controls multiple cameras.

Broadcast-Quality 4K Imaging

The camera features a large 1.0-type back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor that records detailed 4K video at up to 30p with four times the resolution of Full HD. It also captures Full HD at 60p for smooth recording of fast-moving action. The large sensor improves low-light performance and creates attractive shallow depth of field with natural background blur. The camera also supports 24p recording for cinematic-looking productions.

Smooth PTZ Performance with Powerful Zoom

The integrated ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens provides a 12x optical zoom range for wide scenes and detailed close-ups. Clear Image Zoom extends the zoom range to 18x in 4K and 24x in HD without reducing image quality. Tele Convert Mode increases HD zoom up to 48x while maintaining 1920 × 1080 resolution.

Smooth and quiet pan, tilt, and zoom movement allows accurate subject tracking and professional camera transitions. PTZ Trace Memory stores movement sequences for repeated operation, while PTZ Motion Sync combines pan, tilt, and zoom movements into seamless transitions. The camera also supports low-speed zoom, slow pan/tilt operation, and up to 100 preset camera positions.

Flexible Control and Professional Integration

The BRC-X1000 supports remote operation using the supplied IR Remote Commander or the optional RM-IP500 Remote Control Unit for multi-camera control. In studio environments, it also connects with Sony RCP-1500, RCP-1501, RCP-1530, MSU-1000, and MSU-1500 control panels through IP networks.

Professional connectivity includes quad-link 3G-SDI outputs and HDMI output for flexible integration into broadcast and AV systems. PoE+ support reduces cable requirements while VISCA over IP enables convenient network control. Genlock simplifies synchronization with other cameras in multi-camera productions. Dual front and rear tally lamps support live broadcast workflows, and the front tally brightness offers two adjustment levels.

The compact camera supports ceiling, tabletop, and tripod installation, making it suitable for permanent or portable production setups. It is available in black as the BRC-X1000 and white as the BRC-X1000/W.
