Mirage Pro Matte Box

The Tilta Mirage Pro Matte Box is a lightweight clamp-on matte box designed for both beginners and experienced filmmakers. Its versatile design, quick-release construction, broad lens compatibility, and support for professional filter systems make it an ideal solution for cinema, commercial, and content production.

Lightweight and Versatile Design

The Mirage Pro features a lightweight clamp-on design that supports lenses with outer diameters of 95mm, 110mm, 114mm, and 134mm. It also accommodates photography lenses using 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, and 82mm filter thread adapters, allowing it to fit a wide variety of camera setups.

Quick Release Front Hood

The filter tray connects to the matte box body using a magnetic clip-on mechanism with a quick-release button. This design allows fast assembly and disassembly while making it easy to remove the front hood whenever a lighter setup is required.

Even with the front hood removed, the matte box continues to support all three filters. This lightweight configuration is especially useful for gimbals and other weight-sensitive support systems.

Professional Filter Support

The Mirage Pro supports traditional 4×5.65 filters, allowing filmmakers to build their preferred filter combinations. Each filter tray includes its own independent tie-down screw, providing a secure locking mechanism for added filter safety during production.

Variable ND Control

The VND Kit includes a 114mm Variable ND filter with a light reduction range of 1 to 7 stops for precise exposure control. It also includes a rod adapter that supports small wireless motors such as the Tilta Nucleus Nano 2 Motor, enabling wireless ND adjustment when manual access is limited. The Nucleus Nano 2 Motor is sold separately.

Precision Tilt Adjustment

The matte box allows users to adjust the tilt angle using the built-in dial for accurate reflection control. It is also compatible with the optional MB-T17-WA Whip Adapter for focus whip operation, which is sold separately.

Flexible Mounting Options

Included rod adapters provide compatibility with 15mm LWS rods for easy integration into existing camera rigs. The Mirage Pro can also be paired with the optional swing-away adapter to simplify lens changes during production.

Advanced Light Control

An included top flag and optional side flags help reduce lens flare in difficult lighting conditions. The removable four-sided carbon fiber top flag features 55° side extensions for increased light coverage. Both the top flag and the matte box interior feature Tilta’s anti-glare coating, which absorbs excess light through diffused reflection.

Accessory Support and Storage

The top flag mounting position includes 1/4″-20 threads with locating points, providing convenient mounting space for accessories when the flag is not in use. A dedicated carrying case keeps commonly used accessories organized for faster transitions between shooting setups.
