STORM 1200X 1200W LED Light

The Aputure STORM 1200x is a 1200W tunable white LED light built around the new BLAIR five-color light engine. BLAIR stands for Blue, Lime, Amber, Indigo, and Red. Together, these five channels fill out the color spectrum more completely than traditional bi-color LEDs. As a result, the STORM 1200x produces a higher quality white light that better matches natural daylight and Blackbody sources such as tungsten quartz.

Full Spectrum Color Fidelity

The calibrated Indigo channel in the BLAIR engine enhances fluorescing materials, resulting in more accurate color reproduction across the spectrum. The STORM 1200x achieves CRI 95+, SSI [P3200] 87, and SSI [D5600] 87. When compared to natural daylight and traditional bi-color LEDs, the STORM 1200x reveals subtle but significant differences in how it renders fluorescing objects, making it a superior choice for color-critical production work.

Unmatched Color Adjustability

The BLAIR engine gives the STORM 1200x a greater CCT range than traditional bi-color lights. Furthermore, it is the first light of its kind to offer 100% +/- Green control across the full ASC MITC range of adjustment. In addition, Aputure has added an x,y coordinate mode for even greater precision in color control, giving you the flexibility to dial in exactly the look you need.

Precision Low-End Dimming

Bit-depth control is increased in the STORM 1200x for improved low-end dimming. It supports PWM dimming all the way down to 0.1% without any shifts or dropoff. Color accuracy stays consistent throughout the entire brightness range, even at extreme low brightness levels. So you can confidently use the light at any level without worrying about color inconsistency.

ProLock Locking Bowens Mount

The STORM 1200x features the ProLock Locking Bowens Mount, a more secure clamping design for attaching modifiers. Bowens accessories lock rigidly in place, and precision optics such as fresnels and spotlight projectors align precisely with the light engine. As a result, you get consistent and reliable modifier performance every time.

IP65 Weather Protection

The STORM 1200x carries head-to-toe IP65 dust and weather protection. Seals on every connector and around all components allow the lamphead, control box, and cabling to be used outdoors in the rain. This makes it suitable for extreme environments where other lights simply cannot operate.
