Rota-Slot Diopter

The Lindsey Optics 4×5.65 Brilliant Rota-Slot Diopter helps cinematographers create dramatic deep focus effects by combining near and far subjects within the same scene. The system uses two split close-up lenses separated by an air gap, known as a slot, to produce distinctive optical results. The slot edges typically align with scene elements such as door frames for a natural transition between focus zones.

Fast and Precise Lens Alignment

The Brilliant² Rota-Slot Close-Up Lens mounts inside a geared rotating tray, allowing fast and accurate alignment during production. The integrated Rota-Lock mechanism securely locks the rotation at the desired angle, helping maintain consistent positioning throughout the shot.

Multiple Slot Configurations

The Rota-Slot Diopter is available in +1/2, +1, +2, and +3 diopter strengths with three slot widths to match different creative requirements. Each version uses precision-cut 138mm split diopter lenses with a specific air gap and lens geometry.
