The Sony PXW-Z300 integrates three 1/2-type 4K Exmor R CMOS sensors with the BIONZ XR image processing engine for detailed 4K60p acquisition. Full-pixel readout captures fine textures and accurate color reproduction while maintaining low noise performance. Furthermore, the camera supports high-sensitivity shooting with wide dynamic range in both 4K and Full HD modes.

AI-Assisted Subject Recognition

The dedicated AI Processing Unit improves autofocus precision by recognizing human posture, anatomical structure, and subject orientation. Consequently, the camera can track subjects even when faces are partially obscured, backlit, or positioned at difficult angles. Auto composition functions also help maintain centered framing during moving shots.

Professional Lens Control

The integrated 17x optical zoom lens covers a 30.3 – 515 mm full-frame equivalent range with a constant F1.9 aperture. Independent focus, zoom, and iris rings provide direct tactile control during operation. In addition, the digital extender increases magnification up to 1.5x in 4K and 4x in HD recording modes.

The lens-shift image stabilization mechanism minimizes blur caused by handheld movement. The flexible LCD arm allows multiple viewing positions for shoulder-mounted or chest-supported shooting styles. The PXW-Z300 records using XAVC Intra, XAVC Long, and MPEG HD422 codecs. Additionally, the camera supports Slow & Quick Motion recording and network-based file transfer workflows.

Comprehensive interfaces include 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI Type-A, USB Type-C, wired LAN, Gen lock, and time code input/output connections. Four-channel LPCM audio recording is supported through dual XLR inputs and the Multi Interface Shoe. Wireless monitoring and remote operation are also available through built-in dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity.
