BP-U Battery Pack Series

Choose your ideal battery with the Sony BP-U Series. These lithium-ion battery packs offer different capacities for professional video shooting, from the compact BP-U35 to the high-capacity BP-U100.

Three Capacity Options

The Sony BP-U35 provides 35 Wh capacity in a compact and lightweight design. Its low weight suits high-mobility applications such as gimbal mounting. The BP-U70 provides 72 Wh capacity and balances capacity with weight for many professional video applications. The BP-U100 delivers 97 Wh capacity and suits extended shooting times in the field or studio, with the camera either shoulder-mounted or tripod-mounted.

The BP-U70 offers significantly higher capacity than the previous-generation BP-U60. The BP-U100 offers significantly higher capacity than the previous-generation BP-U90. The BP-U35 offers higher capacity and faster charging than the previous-generation BP-U30.

Camera Battery Status Monitoring

All three batteries continuously communicate battery status data to the camera. Operators can view remaining capacity on the camera’s LCD monitor and viewfinder. Each battery also features four LED indicators showing 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80% remaining capacity.

Charging and Operating Range

The BP-U35 takes approximately 90 minutes to charge when using the BCU1A/U2A. The BP-U70 takes approximately 150 minutes, while the BP-U100 takes approximately 210 minutes.

All three batteries support a discharging operating temperature from -20°C to +45°C and a charging temperature from 0°C to 40°C.

Different Sizes and Weights

The BP-U35 measures 41.5 x 46.1 x 69.7 mm and weighs approximately 235 g. The BP-U70 measures 41.5 x 84.5 x 69.7 mm and weighs approximately 450 g. The BP-U100 measures 41.5 x 122.8 x 69.7 mm and weighs approximately 645 g.

Voltage and Capacity Specifications

All three battery models have a maximum voltage of 16.4 V DC and a nominal voltage of 14.4 V DC. Choose between 35 Wh, 72 Wh, and 97 Wh capacity according to the selected BP-U model.
