Full-Spectrum Light Measurement

The Sekonic C-800 measures LED, HMI, fluorescent, tungsten, natural light, and electronic flash across 380 to 780nm. Its high-resolution CMOS sensor captures spikes in light output for precise color measurement. The meter supports a wide color temperature range from 1,600 to 40,000K and illuminance measurements from 1 to 200,000lx in ambient light and 20 to 20,500lx·s in flash light.

The C-800 conforms to Class A of JIS C 1609-1: 2006 as an illuminance meter class, providing a measurement system designed for detailed light analysis.

Advanced Color Analysis

The C-800 provides expanded color rendering measurements including CRI, SSI, TLCI, TLMF, and TM-30-18. It is also the only meter listed with SSI, the Spectral Similarity Index developed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and its Technology Council. This lets you compare lights based on their spectral similarity.

For RGB, RGBW, and RGBAW LED lighting, the meter provides CIE 1931 x, y chromaticity coordinates along with Hue and Saturation measurements. These controls help you match LED sources with other available light sources, whether gelled or not.

Practical Color Control

The C-800 displays values for major lighting and lens filter brands to simplify color correction and light modification. It includes Lighting Filter data for Rosco and LEE, Camera Filter data for Kodak Wratten, LEE and Fuji, plus LB/CC Index information.

Photo and cinematography users can choose convenient display modes such as Multiple Lights and White Balance Correction. Up to 99 measurements can be stored in the meter’s memory.

User-Friendly Operation

The C-800 features a 270-degree swivel head, cap-free dark calibration, and a large 4.3-inch color touch panel LCD. Its Customize function supports a user-friendly operating experience.

The C-800 Series Utility Software, available from Sekonic, provides easy meter settings and computer-based analysis of stored measurements. You can edit memory titles and transfer memorized values between the computer and meter.
