FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Camera Kit
The Sony FX6 allows you to capture the impossible with its expanded ISO sensitivity. Specifically, you can now record usable images in near-total darkness thanks to a range that reaches up to 409,600. Because the full-frame sensor uses innovative light-gathering technology, it guarantees limitless shooting possibilities. Furthermore, the sensor delivers stunning 4K imagery with a shallow depth of field. Consequently, your shots will achieve a truly cinematic look with beautiful bokeh.
Professional Color and High-Speed Processing
This camera features S-Cinetone color science, which Sony originally developed for the acclaimed FX9. It produces rich colors and natural skin tones straight out of the camera without the need for grading. Additionally, the 10.2-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor provides a massive dynamic range of 15+ stops. This allows for reduced noise and superb image quality in any lighting. To handle this data, the BIONZ XR engine provides enormous processing power. Therefore, the camera remains responsive while capturing high-quality images at lightning speeds.
Advanced Autofocus and Solo-Shooter Tools
The FX6 uses a Fast Hybrid AF system with 627 phase-detection points to track subjects tenaciously. Specifically, it covers 89% of the image area to ensure precise focus even at high frame rates. Furthermore, the system supports Real-time Eye AF and Face Detection. This technology guarantees stable focus during interviews, even when subjects look away. For solo operators, the camera offers selectable AF transition speeds. Consequently, you can perform smooth rack focuses or switch subjects with total creative control.
High Frame Rates and Variable ND Technology
You can transform everyday action into elegant movement by shooting at 4K 120fps. Specifically, the S&Q modes allow you to control the frame rate from 1 to 120fps for beautiful slow-motion narratives. Additionally, the FX6 includes Sony’s unique built-in electronic Variable ND filter. Unlike standard filters, this system adjusts linearly from 1/4ND to 1/128ND. You can even set it to auto to maintain your depth of field in changing light. Therefore, you never have to compromise your creative vision when moving between different environments.
Modular Build and Thermal Management
Despite its robust magnesium-alloy body, the FX6 weighs only 0.89kg. This lightweight design makes it perfect for gimbals, drones, or handheld use. Furthermore, a custom ventilation system prevents thermal shutdown during long 4K recordings. Specifically, the internal heat sinks and low-noise fan keep the sensor cool without interrupting your audio. The modular design also includes a smart handle and grip. Consequently, you can reconfigure the camera quickly for low-angle shots or complex studio rigs.
Broadcast Connectivity and Audio Features
For professional workflows, the FX6 offers 12G-SDI and HDMI outputs along with 16-bit RAW support. Specifically, you can record 10-bit 4:2:2 internally using All-Intra encoding for maximum editing flexibility. Additionally, the camera supports four-channel audio recording through dual XLR inputs and a Multi-Interface (MI) shoe. This allows you to capture high-quality sound from multiple sources simultaneously. In conclusion, the FX6 combines elite connectivity with a flexible design to meet the needs of any professional production.
