Mirage Motorised VND Matte Box

The Tilta Mirage is a new lightweight matte box system. It is designed for modern video creators. The system offers a modular design that is both affordable and versatile.

• Easy Lens Compatibility The Mirage features a 95mm clamp-on backing. Therefore, it mounts directly onto cinema lenses like ARRI Ultra Primes and Leica Summicron-C. In addition, it works with DSLR and mirrorless lenses. This means it supports all types of video creators.
• Lightweight Circular Filters The new circular filters are much smaller and lighter. For example, they weigh only one-fourth of a traditional 4×5.65 filter. As a result, they cost less and are easier to carry.
• Fast Cartridge Filter System The Mirage uses a cartridge design instead of screw-on filters. Moreover, you can install or remove filters with a single press. This makes changing filters quick and convenient during shoots.
• Creative Special Effect Filters You can use many special effect circular filters. For instance, star patterns, multi-colored streaks, anamorphic flares, and black & white pro mists. Therefore, you can create unique looks for your videos.
• Optional Variable ND Module The Variable ND module is very light. The lightest version weighs only 130g. In addition, it uses new PL + CPL technology for accurate colors even at high density.
• Smooth ND Control You can adjust the ND gradually from 0.3 to 2.7. This helps maintain consistent exposure when lighting changes suddenly. However, built-in hard stops prevent the X-pattern shadow. For wide lenses, use ND 0.3 to 2.1. For focal lengths above 35mm, use ND 2.1 to 2.7.
• Wireless ND Control The VND module can be controlled wirelessly with a micro motor. Moreover, the wireless range reaches 100 meters. You can extend the range further with an optional signal amplifier for aerial shots.
• Compatible Controllers The motor works with the included Wireless Controller. Additionally, it supports Tilta Nucleus M and Nano follow focus systems. When you buy the VND Kit, you can mount a Nucleus Nano motor directly on the module.
• Strong and Stable Design The matte box body has an aerodynamic shape with vents. Therefore, it reduces wind resistance during high-speed shooting. You can also add an optional protective front element for extra filter safety.
• Modular and Expandable The modular design allows many creative setups. For example, you can add stackable 4×5.65 filter trays. In addition, adhesive protectors help prevent scratches and reflections on filters.

Important Notes

• Do not power the motor via USB-C when the 14500 Power Supply is attached.
